Day 5 (Millrose Games) - RunnerSpace.com/Travels Season 1

Today was the first day Jon and I woke up without having to load our lifeless bodies into the Accord and drive. With all the extra time, we slept in and went for a relaxed run around the Westchester County area. Around 1:30p we caught an express train to Grand Central. After the quick train ride, we purchased refillable subway passes and caught the 7 line to Time Square. Madison Square Garden was only a short walk away down 7th ave. We picked up our meet credentials with ease. The entire Garden was our playground with the blue press passes around our necks, just flash the pass and instant access. The meet was amazing. A huge mix of masters to kids races. Jon found his idol in the announcer who wore a black velvet blazer, a light blue scarf, and talked in a subtle British accent. There was some Oregon love in the house from the victory lap of the high school boys mile, where the O was tossed up. Jon and I rubbed shoulders with the top track and field athletes, like Bernard Lagat, Adam Nelson, and Veronica Campbell-Brown. Tonight we are staying in Tribeca with a close friend of mine. We plan on having some beverages and talking with the locals. First meet of our Road Trip… Success. ---------------------
